FRIGID Days and Nights + Worn Heaters = A BIG NEED for the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit!

The Ronald McDonald House of Detroit is approaching its 29th Anniversary and the HVAC room heaters in 18 rooms are breaking down after 29 years of continual use (heating and cooling the rooms).

We have always provided a warm, secure environment for families and children. The units started to show some wear and tear over the past 2 years and we’ve continued to maintain them as much as our budget would allow.

We have 24 family bedrooms and approximately 6 of the units have been replaced in the past 4 years, leave 18 units to be replaced.

The Problem:

The winter months in Detroit Michigan can be brutal. Currently we have 100% occupancy at the House and we have immediate needs for 3 heater/AC units for our family bedrooms.

We are faced with turning away families who need housing while their child is going through a critical illness.

The Solution:

We are looking for funding to replace the 18 units or a gift-in-kind donation of the actual HVAC heater/AC units. We have an immediate need to replace 3 of the unit this month with the remaining replacement heaters installed within the first quarter of 2008.

Process:

The staff and facilities team of the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit will work with the donor on securing the HVAC heater/AC units.

We will answer all questions and assist in the processing of this donation to make it as easy as possible for the donor, the families and the staff at the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit.

This fee also includes some maintenance and materials costs for future needs relating to the HVAC heater/AC units.
