Brownies “bank” their change for RMH
Last December,
Brownie Troop #2458, second graders from University Hills Elementary, made Ronald McDonald House banks out of their school milk cartons. (Three different Brownie/Girl Scout Troops participated - the one pictured is Troop #2458.)
The Brownie group will “bank” their spare change in order to help the many needy families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House
of Detroit (RMHD), especially those children who are being treated for an illness at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
Their community donations will be presented to “Ronald McDonald” himself on February 3rd
when he visits University Hills Elementary to put on a special magic show.
“It is so wonderful to have children involved in community service,” says Amy Grande,Principal at University Hills School. “Thank
you, kids, and thank you Ronald McDonald House for helping teach a valuable lesson!”
This benefit helps to provide services such as housing, hot meals, and emotional support for the Ronald McDonald House families and children
during their healing process.
